Sometimes, no matter how much we love what we do, there’s this little voice at the back of our minds that triggers our mom guilt.

And the reason for it is because we can’t be everywhere at once. We’re stuck in that place between what we WANT to do and what we NEED to do.

Sound familiar?

The good news is… it’s all fixable!

And today, I’m going to show you how to have three conversations: with yourself, your helpers and your children… to transform mom guilt into something useful so you can finally reach your full potential instead of playing it small.

Show highlights:

  • The biggest reason why your guilt gets triggered… and how to prevent it from taking over your actions. (4:23)
  • Why you should always label your emotions as accurately as you can. (And what happens when you don’t.) (5:33)
  • The one emotion we mistake for guilt all the time. (7:40)
  • When your guilt is just “calendar conflict” and how to fix it. (9:59)
  • The deadly cycle of “No, I got it” and why it prevents you from being brilliant. (10:40)
  • Do THIS and transform your feeling of guilt into a feeling of gratitude. (11:39)
  • Why it’s impossible to be “wonder woman” all the time and why it’s O.K. that you’re not. (And yes, your kids WILL understand it!) (16:46)

This is the first time I have ever commented on any type of blog site, but as I am binge listening to catch up,. This one truly hit home and is something I am struggling with especially these last couple weeks as I have been interviewing for a new job after my relocation from IL to TX. Both of my kids are now out of the house, my daughter is active duty with the US Navy and my son is currently in boot camp for the Marine Corp. Over the last 7 years during my time at my previous employer I have missed countless activities with them due to work obligations, I am in payroll and if deadlines aren’t met employees don’t get paid. They understood, my daughter who is 22 has said to me “Mom you showed us what hard work and sacrifice looks like and that nothing worth having is ever given”. She truly is my humble soul. Even though both of my kids have told me numerous times they understood and that I was there for the big games and milestones in their lives, the little things didn’t matter to them. I have been holding on to what I thought was “guilt” over missing their stuff, I truly think now after listening to this podcast I am just sad I missed out on that time. I need to make amends with myself that perhaps the now realized sadness feeling I feel should be let go so I can enjoy these next chapters of my kids lives without that lingering feeling of regret.

    Thank you!

I find that a lot of the messages you’re putting out there are things I KNOW. They’re things I know, but things I need to hear and be reminded of from time to time. Thank you so much!!
