We’re talking about luck on today’s podcast, and I came across a celebrity story a few weeks ago that made my heart so happy – I’ve just been waiting share with you.

Raise your hand if you love Kristen Bell. And also raise your hand if her voice is still on constant rotation in your house from your well-worn Frozen soundtrack. ✋

Anyway, Kristen’s husband Dax Shepard was recently interviewed in Off Camera By Sam Jones, and made an interesting observation about her. One that is really consistent with what we’re talking about on the podcast today.

He talked honestly about first meeting Bell, and actually being put off by the extreme amount of positive energy in her life due to his own insecurities.

“I was going, ‘Do I want to be with a Christian, who has eight people living in her house for free? Who has to get out of a car when there’s a dog that doesn’t have a leash and ruin her whole day to rescue this dog?” he explained. “That’s great and she’s good, but that’s not what I wanna do, I’m not that good.”

I mean, how many women do we know that just exude this kind of love and positive energy? Even though it could be scary for a new boyfriend who might not be quite settled yet 😂, you can’t deny that these women are pretty magnetic.

And so then here’s where the twist in the story happens, in Shepard’s own words:

“I just slowly through time watched what fruit she bore out of the way she moved through life. I couldn’t deny the reality of how her life unfolds, there’s something charmed about it…it starts with her being endlessly generous and loving, and believing the world’s a wonderful place, and then downriver it proves to be all of those things to her…You can’t deny what the outcome is, and it’s so drastically better for her…It’s just a better life — and I wanted that. And so I chose to move more in her direction.”

It’s just a better life.

I mean, Hollywood happily ever after.

And it’s true – some women seem to live a charmed life, and everything just falls their way. In the non-celebrity world most of us live in, maybe it looks like starting a business at the perfect point in time, or bumping into just the right person when you need it most. No matter which lense you’re using, some women just consistently get huge returns on the chances they take.

We all know that you can’t control luck. However, you can take more advantage of the serendipity all around you.

In today’s episode, you’ll hear how you can attract more luck into your own life and career.
