How is 2022 treating you so far? If you’re like me, you might be tentative about your optimism and expectations for this year.
In fact, I asked some members of my coaching community what their “Word of the Year” is for 2022. I make it a habit to ask at the start of each year. Usually my beloved group of high achieving, type A working mamas (it takes one to know one) choose words like “Achieve” or “Motivation” or “Empowered.” But we’ve all been through it (again) in 2021. So I wasn’t surprised to see words for 2022 like:
Nurture
Contentment
Healing
Nourish
Because in fact, if we could pick a word for the primary emotions we are feeling right now, it might look like:
Stress
Anxiety
Worry
Dread
Fear
And HONESTLY, we are trying to NOT feel those things right now, right? So the cure for these negative emotions looks a lot like healing. And nurturing. And overall self care. And why do you think that is?
I’ve got a hunch.
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
In other words, the dynamics and changes in the world feel very much outside of our control, and very much uncertain. And the one thing it seems we CAN control is how we take care of ourselves and our families. So let’s allow ourselves to take that win, shall we?
Because listen – this might be your year to get the big promotion or start that new business. But it might not be, and that’s ok. The one non-negotiable priority for you this year is… YOU.
So into 2022 we go, together. Me and you.
Xoxo,
Cherylanne
